The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the United Nations agency for the world of work. It sets international labour standards, promotes rights at work and

nations. The ILO embodies a vision of universal, humane condi-tions of labour to attain social justice and peace among nations. The contemporary expression of this vision is the Decent work Agenda. The ILO’s original and most important task has been the de-velopment, promotion, and monitoring of international labour standards.
